Zakopane. In the heart of the Tatra Mountains
We invite you to Zakopane!
The winter capital of Poland at the foot of the Tatras is amazing at any time of the year. This tour is created for those who want to get acquainted with the folk culture, the mountaineers’ cuisine, visit ski resorts, and admire the beautiful mountain scenery. This is the best mix of history and experience that we can offer to tourists outside of Krakow.
We begin our trip with the museum of the famous Khokhlov uprising. The group will get acquainted with wooden cottages (typical Tatra architecture), learn about the 19th century life of mountain families and the reasons of uprising.
The next stop is the border with Slovakia. At the border post we will have the opportunity to get to know one of Poland’s neighbors better.
Then we will visit the shepherds, who will treat us with traditional smoked oscypek cheese.
The next are winter sports. During ski jumps, Bolshoi and Maly Krokev will tell us about winter tourism in Zakopane and ride a cable car to the top of Gubalowka. Here you will take the most incredible panorama photos of the Tatras granite peaks. In your free time, you can stay on the observation area or go down to the local market to have a dinner with local delicacies and buy souvenirs.
